Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-26-20  Cibator: First name is Walter. And he's one and the same with the player of White in the game:

Veitch vs J Penrose, 1950

Incidentally, he shouldn't be judged solely on the basis of that debacle. He was rated at the time not far short of master strength. In the round before, he'd beaten Harry Golombek in fine style, a game which I'll submit to CG when time allows.

Mar-25-23  Nosnibor: No relation to Robert Veitch who was born in Leicester sometime in the 1930`s? He was an active organiser of chess and occasional player in the Syston area which was close to Birstall where he lived.
Mar-25-23  Nosnibor: Correction to my last post. Robert Veitch was born in Liverpool and was a beekeeper. He moved to Leicester after W.W.2.
