ray keene: i think most of the various modern nicholsons you have are all j.g.nicholson who tied first in the british junior championship and was at dulwich college with me.you need to amalgamate these games under one name.

chessgames.com: Thanks, Ray. Do you suppose the game from 1962 was John G Nicholson as well, or a different J. Nicholson?

ray keene: the nicholson i was at school with wd have been too young to play in the major open in 1962-he wd probably have been about ten but you can check birthdates on the fide rating list
Feb-10-05  weary willy: John (G) Nicholson went up to Pembroke College Cambridge in 1973 - suggesting he was born in 1954 or 55. There is another - J R Nicholson ("Stodgy Jim") active in NW England chess - he may be the 1962 player
Apr-13-05  Pretendyourlying: I believe John Nicholson plays for a dutch chessclub called 'discendo discimus'(DD) They're building in The Hague is were the FIDE resided for many years.
