He is a FIDE master, FIDE Instructor (1) and captain of the Canadian Chess Olympiad (2010) team. He returned to coach the Canadian Chess Olympiad (Women) (2014) team after having done so for the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2012) team. He tied for share of 1st-3rd at the Toronto championship in 1999.
