Mar-21-19  ColdSong: I once spoke briefly with Mr Ostojic in a tournament. My feeling was that he was shy,(what can often be considered as a deep quality) but had nevertheless something to say to the young player I was.He simply told me that a Grandmaster's life, from tournaments to tournaments, was too hard, and was inadvisable.I kept silent,as if he showed me a far ending hidden in a position. Now one will understand I have to repeat it here,as surely as I'd put a flower on his grave if I can.RIP Grandmaster.

FSR: The story I read someplace was that he was murdered by men to whom he owed gambling debts.
Feb-10-22  Granny O Doul: I once lost rather badly to him at a NY Open. It was a rough tournament for me; I went from playing him to asking him to sign my copy of "Yugoslav Chess Triumphs".

I had known the fact of his demise but nothing of the circumstances. Life is hard.
