Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-10-09  Karpova: Gabor Pali tried to organize the Gedeon Barcza Memorial (2009)
Apr-12-09  PhilFeeley: What's a 2048 player doing trying to organize a GM tournament? And without the help of the Hungarian Chess Federation? Did he organize the previous one?
Apr-12-09  Dredge Rivers: <PhilFeeley>

Yeah! How dare he defy the Chess player's code! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!! :)

Apr-12-09  Dredge Rivers: New bumper sticker in Hungary:

HONK IF GABOR PALI OWES YOU MONEY!

Apr-12-09  PhilFeeley: <Dredge Rivers> Chess player's code? Sorry, you've lost me.

In retrospect I probably shouldn't have asked. I suppose lots of master players become organizers one day. There's one here in Vancouver (Stephen Wright - unfortunately, not in the database here) who's been doing it for years.

Apr-12-09  Dredge Rivers: <PhilFeeley> <I probably shouldn't have asked>

Ya think? You implied that <a 2048 player> should never even try to <organize a GM tournamemt>. Or at least, he should get the help of his national chess federation. After all, we can't have the peasants putting on airs!

BTW, what was Pitagorski's rating?
