Ms. Bulmaga could have avoided the ♔+♘+♗ vs. ♔ endgame by playing <58.Bd6! Kxe8 59.Kf6! (only winning move) Kd7 60.Bh2 Ke8 61.Bg3 (zugzwang) Kd7 62.Kf7> and the pawn on e7 promotes.

However, as the game showed, she had no problems giving mate with ♘ and ♗. It's very commendable to go for the slow, but completely sure win instead of the quick, fancy win.
