Dec-21-20  R4f43l L3 M4550n: Awesome play 13.d6 by Ian!
Dec-23-20  Ulhumbrus: If after 18...Bxf3 the pawn on d6 supports the manoeuvre Nc3-b5-c7 one alternative is 18...a6 keeping the knight out of b5 first

BLACK TO MOVE

Apparently the exchange 18...Bxf3? was a mistake after which White obtained a clear initiative. Maybe 18...Qa5 would have been better

BLACK TO MOVE

20...Bxd6? was another mistake. Perhaps Karjakin overlooked White's subtle reply 21.a5!, after which Black is busted.

Instead, Black should have tried something else, maybe the exchange of minor pieces on f3.

Jul-12-21  Gaito: An excellent game by Ian Nepomniachtchi (or Nepo) as everybody calls him. In November, just 4 months from now, Nepo will be playing a match for the World Championship against Magnus Carlsen. We wish Nepo good luck. He deserves to be a World Champion, and if he does it, after many years the title would finally go back to Russia. We look forward to some very interesting games in that match.
