  saffuna: Right. 24. Rh8+.

But he already had a winning advantage, and won.

perfidious: As another Carlsen 'fan' rears his ugly head....

Granted that the champion overlooked a fairly simple tactic; but it is ironic that those who turn out to wax critical over top players' errors could not touch them on the best day of their lives.

Craziest part is in the post-game interview with Tania he said he was thinking of going 24.Bxg7!?!?!
Jul-22-20  Ulhumbrus: 5...h6 disturbs the king side pawns and this is one justification for 7 g4 which looks otherwise like a nonsensical attack but is it sufficient justification? Two examples of ways to take action in the centre are 7...c5 and 7...e5. Giri can assume that Carlsen has prepared this. Perhaps Giri wants to avoid taking too great a risk until he has first had a chance to look at it himself. 7...Bxc3 concedes the bishop pair. Two alternatives are 7...a5 and 7....Nc6.
Jul-22-20  MordimerChess: Magnus said in the interview that g4 is worthy to be checked in every opening, lol... confusing the audience...
