GrahamClayton: After 27. hg4 Campbell has approximate material equality, with a rook and knight for the queen, but his pieces are uncoordinated, allowing Capp's rook and queen to make threats which eventually win a piece. I do believe this is my first GOTD nomination to be chosen as well :-)
Sep-30-20  Diana Fernanda: Wichita Lineman, the Glem Campbell game chess.
Sep-30-20  Brenin: Up until 22 Qh5 White seemed to have a slight but persistent advantage, with pressure on Black's c-pawn. Perhaps he was spooked by the Black N hovering around his K-side, but 22 Qh5 (Rb7!) was the wrong way to deal with it. Perhaps the risky-looking 24 Qg4 was played in the hope of 24 ... Rg5? 25 Nxe4, winning material. (A nice line is 25 ... Nf3+ 26 Kh1 (not 26 gxf3?? Rxg4+) Rxg4 27 Nxf6+ gxf6 28 hxg4, and although Black wins back the exchange with 28 ... Nd2, White comes out a P ahead with a much better endgame.) However, the sac 24 ... Nf3+ was a much better response from Black, which White should have declined with 25 Kh1, conceding the exchange after 25 ... Nd2, but retaining some compensatory Q-side pressure with 26 Qe2.
Sep-30-20  paavoh: Agreed <Brenin>, White played a version of the minority attack so why switch to play on the King side?

perfidious: Played the White side of this QGD Exchange for many years and it could be a fine line between keeping enough pieces for defence of the king and pursuing the minority attack.

At White's 15th, Nd2 is the usual idea in these positions and possibly worthy of consideration.

OhioChessFan: <Brenin>, yes, odd to play Rb1 and then not follow up with Rb7 when it became playable.

Breunor: Computer agrees with perfidious, it ranks 15 Nd2 as best with a score of .96. Be2 scores .38.

Computer views 22Qh5 as best on a short analysis, but running it a long time Stockfish prefers Kh2 or Kh1 keeping an advantage of .8 or .75 while Qh5 is .38.

22Kh2 Rad8 23 Nc3 Re6 24 Qh5 so the queen does get back there.
