Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-18-15  paavoh: All you need is a lowly pawn :-)
Nov-18-15  MindCtrol9: Keeping the energy all the time and with the technic was too much for Rapport to handle.
Feb-10-16  Howard: Any comments on Black's very unusual 2nd move?

Personally, I've actually considered trying it, but according to the databases, it's hardly every seen.

Feb-10-16  Retireborn: <Howard> Chigorin played it all the time, with mixed results, although he did beat both Steinitz and Lasker with it. And Nigel Short once used it to defeat Kasparov.

Unless you play at a very high level, it's probably as good as any other opening.

Feb-11-16  Howard: Now, I don't want to sound picky, but that game in which Short beat Kasparov......was a rapid game from their six-game rapid match, in 1987.

Doesn't exactly "count", in my opinion.

By the way, Retireborn, please look at the latest comments from Fischer-Geller, Skopje, 1967. You might just want to contribute something !

Feb-11-16  Shams: <Retireborn> <Unless you play at a very high level, it's probably as good as any other opening.>

The problem with Rapport's entire repertoire in a nutshell.
