Apr-26-15  MindCtrol9: All these games show kasparov aggressive style.
Apr-26-15  ToTheDeath: This was the best game of the first day's blitz match. Kasparov really went at him after losing on time in the previous game.

PawnSac: The play on the H file beginning with 19. ..h4 was very well conceived. It was the one place where he could build pressure that Short couldn't counter. It's games like this that demonstrate the depth of G's strategic thinking. The rook penetration with 28. ..Rxh3! 29.Qe6 Rg3 was classic GK. 29.Nxh3 Qxh3 was impossible because the K is stripped of defense. For example..

30.Kf2 Rh5 31. Qxe7 Qh2+ 32. Kf3 Rf5#

or

30.Rf1 Rh5 31.Qc7 Rg5+ 32.Kf2 Rg2+ 33.Ke1 Qh4+

or

30. Rf1 Qh1+ 31. Kf2 Rh2+ 32. Ke1 Qg2 33. Qxh2 Qxh2

or

30.d5 Qh1+ 31.Kf2 Rh2+ 32.Kg3 Qg2+ 33.Kf4 Rh4#

or

30.d5 Qh1+ 31.Kf2 Rh2+ 32.Qxh2 Qxh2+ 33.Kf3 Qh5+ 34.Kf4 Qf5+ 35.Kg3 Ne4+ 36.Kg2 Qf2+ 37.Kh1 Ng3#

or

30.Rd2 Qh1+ 31.Kf2 Rh2+ 32.Kg3? Rh3+ 33.Kf2 Qf3+ 34.Kg1 Rh1#

or

30.Rd2 Qh1+ 31.Kf2 Rh2+ 32.Qxh2 Qxh2 33.Kf3 Qxd2

it seems no matter what white tries there is a mate or heavy loss of material after 29.Nxh3
