Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-22-15  Jamboree: I think Wesley got lucky in this game.

It looks like he was taken by surprise by 16. Bb6!, winning the exchange unexpectedly.

But white then lost focus and unnecessarily gave the exchange back on move 19, thinking that 19. c5?! would lead to tactical tricks regaining the material or initiative - but he misplayed it, especially with 22. a4? (why not just 22 Bxb7, which gives white some strong-looking outside passed pawns?)

If white had kept the exchange or kept an outside passed pawn, he would gave had good chances to draw or maybe even win (with best play).

Feb-22-15  Pulo y Gata: Even after White won the exchange, I think Black has good play because of his bishop pair and extra pawns.

I agree that 19.c5 was bad though, and I would have played 19.Rb1 Bd4 when both Rd1 or a4 (pushing a5 next) are possible.

In your line, 22.Bxb7 is nothing special because Black will just play Qxb6 because 23.Bxc8 is answered by Qc7, regaining the piece. Here black's connected central pawns are more dangerous than white's a pawn.
