Jan-05-12  pericles of athens: 39. N x e6!

very nice.

Jan-05-12  Shams: I'm not a Caro-Kann player but this ending just looks awful for Black. And, I bet Peter Leko agrees with me. :)
Jan-05-12  King Death: <Shams> This looks like a bad French from the old days, before Black players figured out that they had to play more actively. Even though the light squared bishop is outside of the pawn chain, it doesn't have much to do. It surprises me to see a 2700 player head straight into this ending where he has no chance except for maybe a draw if he defends perfectly.

If I'd played Black here I'd have done anything to avoid that. And probably lost a lot quicker in the middlegame.

Jan-17-13  Whitehat1963: Why not 30...Bxb5?
Jan-17-13  Gilmoy: <30..Bxb5> 31.Nxe6 Rxe6 32.Bxd5+ Rc6 33.Rb1 Ba6 34.e6 looks grim. Black would have no fun against 2 connected passers.

e.g. 34..Kc7 35.Bxc6 Nxc6 36.Kc3 and White's pressure on b6 (and indirect threat on g6) ties Black up, while White's K strolls to f6.

Nov-17-22  LoveThatJoker: Exquisite final position: the N gets trapped on g1 (dominated by the B), while at least one of the White pawns promotes. A three Michelin star finish...poetry.
