HeMateMe: Congratulations to Judit, back in the spotlight.
Sep-08-11  andrewjsacks: I concur, HeMateMe.

Interesting match coming up with Svidler.

Sep-08-11  beenthere240: I was looking at 12...Ne5. At the time, I thought "what a stupid move," now he pins it and it will take her forever to get out, if at all." Of course as it turns out, when white pins it, it stalls his initiative and sets up the amazing 19...Nxf3! later. This is really a different level of chess.
Sep-08-11  beenthere240: I would not like to be sitting next to Lienier on the plane home to Cuba.

Domdaniel: I can't understand why she persisted with the Scandinavian when she can play a Sicilian like this.
Sep-08-11  Shams: This was an armageddon blitz game, right? 5 minutes to 4, or some such? Seems like the PGN should note that for posterity.
Sep-08-11  whiteshark: <Shams: <This was an armageddon blitz game, right?>> No, this was the 2nd 5 minutes blitz game. Round 4.9 would have been the armageddon game.

Honza Cervenka: <I can't understand why she persisted with the Scandinavian when she can play a Sicilian like this.> Well, in the first Sicilian game with black against Dominguez she was in serious troubles despite of its result in the end. That is probably why she tried (as Monty Pythons used to say) "something completely different".:-)

HeMateMe: I thought these were 25 minute games, Polgar and Dominguez. JP had won both 25 minute games, so the five minute measures were not necessary?
Sep-09-11  bangkokgambit: ้flawless Sicilian !
Sep-10-11  indoknight: so, how many time given for this game?
