Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-29-11  waustad: This is an impressive save. The comps had him dead for ages, though when you looked at the lines, they didn't seem to have a plan how to finish him off.
Aug-30-11  wordfunph: i believe with accurate play from both sides, this game is a draw. One silly mistake and it's 0-1, though a tough one.
Aug-30-11  pulsar: The main task is to get the Black King to f2 and force a zugzwang if possible. I thought this was a win after the Queens came off, but GM Adams put up a sturdy defense and saved the half point in mutual time trouble.

After 92.Kh2, for example:

92...Bd3 is an interesting try, with possible lines: 93.Ra2+ Bd2 94.Kg1 Ke3 95.Ra4 f4 96.Ra2 Bb4 97.Rb2 Bc5, etc.

The King hopes to get to f2 with Be2 as possible cover.

A good fight!

Sep-01-11  wordfunph: "Good try, Mark! You showed them that the Pinoy cannot be trifled with."
