Aug-12-11  DrMAL: Seems today was blunder day for Kosteniuk, who missed twice simply Kf8 for equal chances in her exciting double-edged game. First after the unpowerful 32.Qxe6 (instead of 32.fxe6 for big advantage). Then after the counter-blunder 33.Re1 (instead of 33.f6+! winning already). After 33...Rb6? maybe this attack of white's queen on e6 helped her to finally see 34.f6+!

It's interesting that with 39.c4! instead 39.Qe7 right away, after 39...Qxc4 40.Qe7 the rook cannot protect the knight on f7.

perfidious: The report submitted by <Albertan> notes that White missed a win with 33.f6+ Kg8 34.Qf5 and that after the actual move 32.Re1, Kosteniuk should have played 32....Kf8.

In the line given with 33.f6+ Kg8, Black could instead play 33....Kf8, but 34.Qf5 would follow and I see no way to stop the invasion at h7.

After 32....Kf8, White has three pawns for the piece, but I'm not sure whether she has serious winning chances.
