  Phony Benoni: It hadn't been a good tournament for Cornelius Trimborn, as he was mired in last place with a score of 1.5/14. On the other hand, he might have hoped for a break this round as Atkins was in first place by a full three points. Maybe he would be inclined to be peaceable and generous.

Alas, there was a third hand. Atkins' score was 14-0, and he wasn't going to blow a chance for perfection now.

But give Trimborn credit. He was behind early, but put up a grim struggle. Indeed, on move 61:

The tournament book noted that <61.Bb2> might have been good enough to draw. But the burder of history was too heavy. You can ask Anthony Saidy about that.
