Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-13-10  zanshin: While <22...Rxe1> was good, <30...Re7> was great!
Feb-13-10  Libispusher: After White's <13.Bd2>, Black chose on holding back his knights and went instead for an early central break <14...e5>.

The plan <15.f4> coupled with not castling <16.Kf1> looked flawed as White underestimated the monster lurking at h4. A clinical attack by black after the exchange sac on the 22nd.

<13.Bb2> was played in the game Topalov vs Wang Yue, 2009

Feb-13-10  radicalcation: So has brass ones. What a tough kid.
Feb-13-10  KERESOV: A fantastic attacking game by youthful GM Wesley So! I believed he is now the world's greatest exponent of this line of the a6 Slav. What is soooo amazing is that this game should qualify for the brilliancy prize and definitely in the running as one of the best games of the year so far. The unexpected sacrifice of the exchange on the 22nd move followed by an irresistable offer of an undeveloped knight on b8 with the rook swing 30... Re7! is awe-inspiring. The originality of GM Wesley So's imaginative ideas are at par with the world's elite ... he will be there soon!Totally spellbounding !
Feb-14-10  notyetagm: Game Collection: Wesley So's Best Games
Feb-14-10  jcnt: great game wesley!
Feb-14-10  Don Cossacks: <KERESOV:I believed he is now the world's greatest exponent of this line of the a6 Slav> I think it's Vladimir Malakhov.
Feb-14-10  mysql: Malakhov has quite some wins in this setup:

Feb-14-10  wordfunph: 30...Re7 the move that rocked Moscow!
Feb-14-10  Aztec Chess: Picture perfect!
Jan-02-12  matebay: <wordfunph: 30...Re7 the move that rocked Moscow!>

Intensity 10 earthquake that Stockfish didn't even consider. Its top options show Wes at a disadvantage and then unimaginable move...The evaluation goes berserk in favor of Wes.
