stoy: Two knights and a bishop checkmate the black king! A nice finish.

HeMateMe: Can anyone provide the finishing line here? White looks better, but does black have to resign?
Feb-03-10  King Federer: It's checkmate. The black king has no squares to run.
Feb-06-10  OneArmedScissor: lol hemateme it's checkmate.
Clearly the white knight on a7 just checked the black king. Now ask yourself, where is he going to run to?
Feb-06-10  whiteshark: <finishing line> Where to start? Maybe with the first move...

beautiful 41.Rxc8+! and Ulko resigned after four dazzling moves by Belov..

i once saw GM Vladimir Belov played in a Philippine tourney some years back. He just wears striped t-shirt during play..

Feb-09-10  Xeroxx: What's the fishing line??
Mar-25-10  Belov Vladimir: to wordfunph Really? I didn't know it :)
Mar-28-10  wordfunph: <Belov Vladimir: to wordfunph Really? I didn't know it :)>

yes GM Belov, if i remember it correctly, the venue was in Duty Free Paranaque City during the PGMA Cup. Hope you join tourneys here in the Philippines so we could meet in person.

Good luck to you GM Vladimir Belov! God bless..

Mar-28-10  Jim Bartle: I thought in this variation black attacks on the kingside and white on the queenside. Live and learn.
Mar-28-10  outsider: WOW! the perfect mate; all the pieces but the king participate in the mate and all of the squares around the black king are either attacked once or occupied by a black piece. the most problem-style mate in a practical game i have ever seen. congratulations, mr. belov!
Mar-28-10  Starf1re: Neither of them seems to care about protecting the king, reminds me that I still have much to learn.....
