Nov-25-09  parisattack: A nice example of Mamedyarov's 'patent' strategy - Use the pawns to power through the center, make room for the pieces.
Nov-25-09  econ1: Mamedyarov 4-0 so far. Pretty impressive.
Nov-25-09  Raf: what if 29...Ra1 30.Rxa1 Bxa1 31.Re1 Bd4 32.Bxf8 Kxf8 33.Bd7 - to me still quite playable game.

Black doesn't have an easily apparent way to defend f7 after 33 Bb5 instead of 33 Bd7 in your line.

The threat is Re8+, so if 33...Bb7 34 Re8+ Kg7 35 Re7 Bc8 36 Bc4 a pawn falls.

Plus Milov was down a game, and had to win, so even a miracle draw would not suffice.

Nov-27-09  PAWNTOEFOUR: after 1.4 billion nodes...crafty comes up with this...pv 28...Ra1 29.Rxa1 Bxa1 30.Re1 Bf6 31.Kh2 h5 32.Bxf8 Kxf8 33.f4 Bd5 34.Bd7 <HT> +201 Crafty
