Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-18-09  der623: After his last move, White probably figured out (Assuming he didn't lose on time which is possible, if not likely) that Black could put White in Zugzwang by placing his rook anywhere from c3 to c6. If White moves his rook, he loses the c7 pawn. If the King moves to e1, Rc1 mates.
Nov-18-09  Gilmoy: <der623: anywhere from c3 to c6> Or anywhere in abfgh2 :) White still has only 65.Kc1[] d2+ and Black queens.

<After his last move, ...> Nah, Naiditsch surely saw it before he made his move. In fact, given that Carlsen had the same queening threat one move earlier, e.g. 63..Rh2, I infer that he deliberately played <63..e4> as a joke, connoting <haha, you are so helplessly lost that I can give you a free tempo and you still can't draw>, and Naiditsch's <64.c7> was his own joke: <hoho, I survive for one more move, I am superior to those 63-move fish>.

Nov-19-09  achieve: Yes - self-inflicted Zugzwang there...

<Gilmoy> hehe! - and it's true ;)

Nov-19-09  dr.carreras: Actually, one more move was played before black resigned. Magnus played 64..Rc3, and Naiditch then resigned
