  MissScarlett: <29. Kf2 loses to 29...Rg2+ 30. Kf1 Bg4 31. Qe1 Bf3 32. Qh4 h2.>

As pointed out by Winter in <C.N. 2237> (see <A Chess Omnibus>, p.18), Adolf Jay Fink 'cooked' this brilliancy in the December 1921 <ACB> with 33.Rc1: http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?...

It's curious that Fink didn't also find 32.Rc2, with the same idea of deflecting Black's rook and allowing a draw by perpetual.

So 'the painful truth' is that 26...g3+ sacrifices Black's winning advantage.
