Apr-02-09  drukenknight: what happened here? Out of time?

ajk68: I'm not using the computer but the threat of Rg5 seems threatening. Black's rooks are cut off from the action. Black also has a significant light square weakness.

Or then again, maybe black just ran out of time.

ajk68: I shouldn't have set black as light square weakness. More just the e6 square.

I don't see how black will defend the g6 pawn. After that there are all types of open lines to the king. And there isn't much to protect the knight either.

Apr-03-09  drukenknight: but the b4 pawn is just as lost, not sure there is any winning continuation with the crap pc analysis, perhaps there was published analysis about it?
Oct-11-11  DrMAL: 22.b4 originally struck me as best because it is sharpest 22...Qc7 is only decent response and it was missed, resulting in instant catastrophe. But to better appreciate subtle 22.b4 it helps to look at sequence of best moves, computer takes quite awhile to properly evaluate it. Here are full lines, they should improve a bit as one plays into them but they are interesting as is.

I think move like 22.b4 compared to other clearer two, separates 2400 player from 2700 player I would not have seen subtleties.

Mar-15-14  tranquilsimplicity: <DrunkenKnight> I think that b4 is immaterial in the final position. The best explanation is that given by <ajk68> with whom I agree.#
