May-26-10  LarsenBentYou: Hmm looks like someone confused Wang Yu with Wang Yue... Wang Yu, the FEMALE, who competed in the GIRL's WORLD UNDER 14 CHAMPIONSHIP never exceeded a rating of 2426, much less reached 2736!!

FSR: Damn it, why couldn't Krush have won this game, so it could be "I Krush Yu"?

"I Krush Yu" would have been too obvious, I think. Had Krush won, let alone won in crushing style, I would have preferred "No Pun Intended."

<Egg: "I Krush Yu" would have been too obvious, I think. >

I'd estimate that "too obvious" would apply to at least 75% of <FSR> puns. He has some winners, but ugh, the mundane ones...

Sep-20-21  Z truth 000000001: No pun fun for Yu?
Oct-07-21  areknames: LOL, an anti-pun for a pun? Simply brilliant, <Scazz> is the ideal selector and of course well done <Eggman>!
Oct-07-21  Brenin: 33 Qg6+ was asking for trouble: 33 Nb6 and 34 Qd3 would have been playable, though White's exposed K still gives her an uncomfortable game.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Brilliant--a game title that is not a game title. Rather like Magritte's "This is not a pipe" painting.
Oct-07-21  TheBish: I. Krush - Yu. Yu is OK!!

ajk68: 17. f5 was screaming to be played.

FSR: I guess this pun is sort of a reaction to my complaint a decade ago. Well done, <Eggman>.
Oct-07-21  Brenin: <ajk68>: Yes, 17 f5, followed by Bg5, Bd3 and doubled Rs on the f-file, would have given White better chances. Perhaps she was afraid of allowing Ne5, but in fact the N doesn't do White much harm there.
Oct-07-21  goodevans: Very clever pun and a hugely enjoyable game to play through.

With hindsight it seems unwise to open up the position in front of both Ks when your opponent has a R poised to take advantage of this. Maybe she missed the nice little intermezzo 29...Be5+ that allowed that to happen.

One nice improvement that SF pointed out was the piece sac 31...Kh8.

Now 32.Bg5 can be answered with 32...Rxg5 33.hxg5 Qxg5 with a crushing attack whilst attempting to block with 32.Bg6 allows an equally devastating assault starting 32...Qxh4.

White can get the K off the besieged g-file at the same time protecting the h-pawn with 32.Kh3 but Black then has 32...Nf2#!

Oct-07-21  Ironmanth: A game for Benoni lovers! Thanks, chessgames. Y'all stay safe out there.
Oct-07-21  Diademas: Pun of the year.
Oct-07-21  Petrovscousin: Interesting game (and a wonderful pun). I always have preferred white in these benoni structures when they can get a4 a5 in, as it seems quite pleasant to me, but after an interesting tactical skirmish and perhaps some over extension on the part of krush, it was black who came out on top
