  An Englishman: Good Evening: What a game of sacrifices. Down 3 pawns at one point, down 2 pawns more often than that, down 2 Rooks and a pawn for 2 Bishops after move 35, Smokina must have absolutely no fear at the board.

  scormus: That is some battle! Nothing ladylike about the way these two went at it!
Jan-27-20  goodevans: It's amazing how white managed to lose this. She had many opportunities to put this to bed. One such brings to mind the adage 'attack is the best form of defence' in play from both sides:

<40.Rc7>

As well as pinning the B, white threatens to get her Q on the a1-h8 diagonal (e.g. 41.Qf6) with devastating effect.

<40...d2>

Black counters with a mate threat.

<41. Rd1 Bd3+ 42.Kg1 Qb3>

Renewing the mate threat. Note that 42...Qf5 (intending 43...Qh3) doesn't work because of 43.Qd4.

<43.Rxg7+ Kxg7 44.Qb7+> followed by <45.Qxf3>

... and white will soon pick off the d2 pawn leaving black with nothing.

Jan-27-20  RandomVisitor: Black gets outplayed in the Sicilian Lowenthal and ends up at move 14 with likely a lost position:

  Breunor: Score was over +6 for most of the game, through move 39. Then white fell apart.
Jan-28-20  RandomVisitor: The computer thinks that white can get a small advantage in the Lowenthal under best play:
