Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-09-08  Bobsterman3000: Nice win.
Apr-09-08  Gilmoy: I don't like the 15.Re4 line -- it's hollow (15..g5 16.Bxg5?? Qf5, hence Rh4 is a pipe dream), hangs (Bf5), loses tempi, and/or White will sac an exchange. 15.Qf3 planning Qg2-Be3-Nd2 meets fire with a bucket of ice water.

17.Nd2 is sad -- White's 3 Q-side pieces never move again, so he's "down" more than a Q, and has weak back rank. Black reminds him of this over and over again.

Apr-11-08  JohnBoy: I guess Shomoev didn't watch Wang Hao's win over Grischuk the day before...
Sep-09-23  Allderdice83: According to Stockfish, 15. Re4 is the only way for White to play for advantage. 17. Nd2 is just fine (actually best) but White should play 19. a4 or 19. Qg2. 19. Re1 (what Kramnik played in the famous 2004 game against Leko) is 3rd best. After 19. a4 Be7 (best for Black), 20. Be3 is ~ +0.5. At the cost of an exchange, White is getting developed and will be the one attacking the opponent's king.
Sep-09-23  Allderdice83: Except I just looked at it again and it gives +0.08 for both 15. Re4 and 15. Be3.
