Apr-02-08  Riverbeast: This was Balogh's only win of the tournament, (the rest were draws)...but he won the tournament with a +1 score!

Mateo: Only win but a nice one. 28...Bxe3 was dubious because after the trade of the 'c4' and 'a3' pawns White invades on the 'a' and 'b' files.

The winning combination had to be calculated until the actual end of the game.

32. Ra8! <The beginning of a sound combination.> Rxe4 33. Qh6! <threatens Bg5.> Re2 <32...Qf6 33.Bg5 Qg7 34.Rbb8, White wins.> 34. Be3 Qc4 <or 34...Qe4 35.Rbb8 Qf5 36.Qg5 Qd7 37.Qf6 (or 37.Kf1), the threat Bh6 wins for White.> 35. Rbb8 Rxa2 <It seems that this move defends the Bishop since after 36.Rxc8 Black answers 36...Rxa8, but...> 36. Bg5 Rxa8 37. Rxa8 <Black has to sacrifice his Queen to avoid mate.> 1-0
