Dec-04-08  whiteshark: A very fine game!

I like the deepness of <29...Rc8> when he temporally sacrificed a pawn which he regained with <37...Rxc2>:

Here he also owned the c-file and white's ♙e4 is a undefendable weakness, too.

Dec-29-08  furrer: Bd7!? Seems very intresting.
Feb-04-23  rwbean: Very interesting ... it's a bit like the Umansky-Berliner game, there's a whole series of inaccurate moves by White from moves 23-30 rather than one awful one.

But definitely 30. ♖xd6 is a mistake, so then you would start to wonder what White was thinking when he played 23. b4 ... to human eyes, it just doesn't look good creating permanent weaknesses on the c-file.

Even if there is some tactical wizardry that a computer can come up with to justify it ...

This b4 by White in the Sicilian is like 14. b4 in Short-Kasparov 1993, round 6 ... but in _that_ game White had a strong ♔-side attack because the ♕s were still on.
