Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-06-08  patzer2: After 19 moves the Master has gotten through the Opening into a Queenless middle game with decent prospects of simplifying to a drawn endgame. However, the Master makes a few less than best moves and the GM slowly begins to outplay the master until he has accumulated a won position over the next 19 moves.

Instead of 20. 0-0, perhaps White should have tried 20. Bd3 Rc8 21. e4 Be6 22. Ke2 Ke7 23. Rhc1 =. In this way, White could have contested Black's attempts to centralize his King, take open files and gain space move-for-move, which would have given him a better chance of holding the draw.

Jan-06-08  patzer2: After 31. Bb3?! (putting up more resistance and avoiding the double attack is 31. Kg3 Rcc3 ), Black's little double attack combination beginning with 31...Bxb3! wins a decisive pawn.
