Good eye, Manu2, but after 16...gxf5 white can insert 17.Ba4+! which seems to be sufficient not only for avoiding black's counter-threats but also for keeping some edge.

Dec-05-07  daniellovesbeer: after Ba4 with check black can simply reply Kf8

16...gxf5 17.Ba4+ Kf8 18.exf5 makes a big difference. Here black cannot play 18...Nxh2 with such a great effect due to 19.f6. With black King on e8 this defense doesn't work as 16...gxf5 17.exf5 Nxh2! 18.f6 is refuted by 18...Nxf1 19.fxe7 Ng3+ forking white King and Queen. But with black King on f8 white Pawn would have taken the Queen with check and so 19...Nxf1 is not option here. Of course, 19...Qa7! 20.Kxh2 b5! 21.Ndxb5 axb5 22.Bxb5 saves the black piece and the position with White's extra Pawn is rather unclear than significantly better for white but it is definitely black who must fight for equality here, not white.
