Mar-22-07  Davolni: great performance by sargissian.... good job!!!!!
god bless armenia!!!!!
Mar-22-07  Tomlinsky: <Davolni: great performance by sargissian.... good job!!!!! god bless armenia!!!!!>

I agree!!! Great performances by Sargissian!!! God bless England & Canada too!!!

Mar-22-07  ArmeniaNL: very impressive performance by sargissian,

God bless the whole world except turkey

Mar-22-07  sheaf: god bless himself first to bless the rest of the world.
Mar-22-07  Davolni: Armenians all the way. Such a small country having 20 GM's in FIDE list. That's something. A 3 million population country having more GM's than China & India...... You do the math!!!
Armenia all the way.
Aronian, Akopian, Sargissian are true followers of our WORLD CHAMPION Tigran Petrosian!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mar-22-07  adair10: Georgia has more GM's than Armenia. So what?
Can you please stop self-glorification and generalizations. I understand your pride, but why everybody else should read over and over again how great your nation is. In fact, I like Aronian very much both as a player and human being. Sargissian is also very strong player and Armenia as a country has been known for their chess talent... Everybody knows that, ok.
Mar-23-07  PhilFeeley: If we can get serious about chess for a moment, where was Pono's error? It seems he just played a bad endgame after equalizing.
Mar-23-07  molinov: The h5-Rh8-g5 manouvre seems to me to be the breaking point after which Ponomariov is certainly on the defensive. I like 24.... g5 better than Pono's 24th move.
Mar-23-07  Davolni: <Adair10> Don't take it as close to your heart as you are doing now.... This ia a place where everybody is expressing their thoughts, ideas and comments. If you don't want to read my comments that is your problem, but don't try make me wrong or something like that.
Mar-23-07  argishti: hey, guys chill. k? im happy for sargissian too, and so does davolni. lets not start a fight.
May-10-07  kingsindian2006: virgin islands just got a chessboard ...we are going to pass up armenia soon....!!!
May-10-07  Plato: < Such a small country having 20 GM's in FIDE list. That's something. A 3 million population country having more GM's than China & India>

Just a small correction: China has 20 GMs too.

The most impressive country in this regard is probably Iceland, with 10 GMs from a population of 300,000!

May-10-07  slomarko: <Plato> just out of curiousity is that 10 including Bobby or without him?
May-10-07  Plato: <slomarko> Not including Bobby. These are the ten:

May-10-07  Davolni: <Plato> you are right, now they got 20. Before the April's list China had 19.

Meanwhile Armenia was 3rd place, now US is 3rd I believe.

<kingsindiand> LOL:)

May-10-07  Plato: You mean third in terms of the average rating of the top-ten GMs? Yes, Armenia and China are tied for 4-5 at 2625. Israel (33 GMs) is right up there too, with a top-10 average of 2624.
