Sneaky: shr0pshire why do you keep saying Bogo-Indian? This is your garden variety Queen's Indian is it not?
Feb-17-07  Tacticstudent: It's looking very drawish. Probably WHite's plan will consist on eliminating the IQP and and putting the rooks in the seventh rank. Then Topalov will eliminate black's a5-pawn and try to advance its own a-pawn. Black will try to improve the position of th queen and knight and avoid the trade of queens.
Feb-17-07  Artar1: It's a tough decision: attack the Black queen at d2 with the rook or take the knight at b4 with the bishop, allowing the d-pawn to advance. Black may have a very slight, ever-so-slight advantage.
Feb-17-07  ObiWanBenoni: Interesting with both queens on their 7th ranks at risk of being harrassed. Topalov has the initiative though and he is going to have to work hard to keep it. He may well opt for a draw with chasing the white Q out of his front yard or going for a repetition.

Moondoll: Looks like it's just getting good! I stopped in at the right time.
Feb-17-07  chestknot1: <ObiWanBenoni>It´ll be interesting to see Whose queen is more vulnerable.
Feb-17-07  Artar1: <Moondoll: Looks like it's just getting good! I stopped in at the right time.>

It's getting really good. White's 28th move is a tough one.

Feb-17-07  Marmot PFL: Ra1 isn't Topalov's style and isn't good anyway - Qe2 Bg2 Rfd8 favors black.
Feb-17-07  Artar1: My screen just showed Qe7, and then corrected itself. Did anyone else see that?
Feb-17-07  Artar1: 27.Qa7 was a mistake, or maybe Topalov has something in mind?
Feb-17-07  MyCatPlaysChess: Yeah... Qe7 freaked me out! Glad it was corrected.
Feb-17-07  DevastatioN: I thought Topa sneezed and dropped the Queen on the e7 ;)
Feb-17-07  Marmot PFL: Once the a pawns go there isn't much play left.
Feb-17-07  Artar1: 29...Qb5 and then 30. Qxa5.
Feb-17-07  iron maiden: And it's drawn.
Feb-17-07  Phoenix: There is an easy explanation about Qe7. Topalov misread the signal Danailov was giving him. He was about to let go of the queen on e7, and looked up to see his manager waving his arms frantically.
Feb-17-07  ObiWanBenoni: shame about the draw, I thought there was plenty of play left

WannaBe: Draw!! I told you so in the Handi-Capper's corner!!
Feb-17-07  cannibal: Are you sure it's already drawn??
chesspro.ru has 29... Qb5 30. Qxa5 Nd5
Feb-17-07  Whitehat1963: I'd like to thank Topalov and Anand for contributing their ideas to our all-important correspondence game with Shulman! Thanks guys. I'm certain that's what you had in mind every step of the way. ;-)
Feb-17-07  Ulhumbrus: Topalov does not repeat 14 a4 with which he won against Anand at Corus and it may indeed not have been as bad for Anand as the result suggested. With 22...Nd5 Black has a superbly placed N which may provide enough compensation for White's bishop pair.
Feb-17-07  Udit Narayan: nice game.
