Jan-16-09  A.G. Argent: I love stumbling onto games like this where ain't nobody said nothin' yet and it's a minor gem. Akopian's stubborness with his Queen in sticking her in but good with 17.Qg6 and the ensuing combinative attack to gain support for her to get to the killer 21.Rg5 is very well done indeed. If 21...hxg5 then 22.Qh5+ Kg8 23.Bh7+ Kh8 24.Bg6+ Kg8 25.Qh7#.

Jan-21-09  lefthandsketch: Nice mating pattern, Rxg5 is a sac that suggests itself in this position, but the real magic is how Akopian was able to reach this insane position with his rook on the 5th rank and queen on g6 by move 17! Yowzer!
Jun-04-20  zenwabi: The final position is the solution to chess tactical puzzle #763 in the 2005 edition of ANTHOLOGY OF CHESS COMBINATIONS, under the tactical theme DEMOLITION OF PAWN STRUCTURE.
