I've gotten to the point where I sort of feel the Bishop has to leave the h file with tempo, but it's hard to believe that tempo is worth a Queen. Maybe Bxc5 followed by Bf1? If this post sounds confused, that would be indicative of my thoughts. |

| Oct-07-06 | | aazqua: Both qe6 and bh6 are easy to spot. Unfortuantely, bh6 doesn't quite do it. Qe6 shows just how devoid the king is of good squares. The queen sac isn't really a sac - the king is completely trapped and material becomes irrelevent. Black's black bishop is worth a queen at the end. |

Bf1 Bxf2, and white doesn't really have any threats, and black has an annoying check on e3 to cover h6 if he needs it. Something more direct like 20. Bxc5 bxc5 21. Qe6+ Kh8 22. Bf5 seems to fail to 22... Rd6 |

Even Kasparov during his "immortal against Topalov Kasparov vs Topalov, 1999 said it was not all calculated from the start, but he knew he could bail out with a perpetual if he couldn't see something more a few moves on. In this game, it would be reasonably safe to see that White gains R+N+P+attack for the Q, even though Bc5+ is not too onerous to see from the start. |
