plang: White's attempt to avoid main lines does not lead to any advantage. System resembles Petrosian system with white king bishop left at f1. White loses time with 11 Nb3 after which black is better. Shirovs clever 13..Bh6 invites 14 g5 causing further weaknesses in whites position. After 16 ef black would have had a significant advantage but 16 gf was much worse.
