  plang: 15..Rac8 and 17..dxc were identified by Shirov as slight innacuracies that contributed to white achieving a two bishop versus two knight endgame. Shirov recommended instead ..e4 at either of these junctures. Shirov erred with 36 b4? when, instead, 36 Bh6..Nb3 37 Kf2 with the idea of Ke3-d3-c3 would have won quickly. Still, Shirov won without much effort after exchanging one of the bishops with 42 Bxc7.
