Jun-01-06  Mameluk: Davidek is a well known pawngrabber, but here Beliavsky´s sacrifice was very dangerous. While analyzing position on playchess, I was sure Davidek will fall to one of many tactical trics. And he did.

27. Qxg6 would be safer, 27. Qxe5+ shows David´s confidence.

And now comedy of errors: 30. Qf4?, because Beliavsky could play 31... Bd4+ 32. Kf1 or h2 Bc5!! and after Rxb7 Qa1+. Only 33. Re2 would Navara give some chances to survive.

It got worse. 30...Bxf3?? 31. Qxf7??, when automatic 31. Rxf7 Qxg3 32. Qxg3 Rxg3 33. Rf8+ and Rg8+ was winning.

31...Qxf7??, winning was 31... Bd4+ 32. Kf1 Bxg2+

The position still should have been draw, but Navara with better position and probably time? converted easily. Fritz recommends exchange sacrifice 35... Rxg3!! The horse got to play in the game and killed the veteran.

Jun-02-06  Mameluk: <HonzaCervenka> That´s right. So after Kh2 must be played Bf2.

Honza Cervenka: Well, 32...Bf2 would have been killer. Thanks.
