Kibitzer's Corner
May-21-06  Assassinater: Why resign? 21... f6 is certainly playable and while black will suffer, he might be able to pull off a draw. In any case, this game displays black's lack of counterplay without ...c5 thrown in. Is the plan involving b5, throwing the queenside pawns forward like that sound for black in this opening?

May-21-06  coucoucou: I agree that resigning seems a little premature but this variation of the Queen's gambit is very sound and popular. It's called The Meran and was played regularly by Kasparov, Kramnik, Shirov,Tal and other great chess players.
May-21-06  Assassinater: Thanks. Looking over the game it appears that black misplaced the bishop on d6 and therefore, lost an important tempo in which to prepare ...c5. Is keeping the king in the center for a couple more moves respectable in order to put in ...a6 ...Bb7 and ...c5?
May-22-06  alicefujimori: I don't think Black resigned on the 21st move. Possibly the rest of the score is missing?
May-22-06  ChessVip: Zambrana is a fat guy and he was exhausted traveling from Bolivia. he arrived one hour ago to play against the strong Lautier!
May-22-06  ChessVip: finally black lose in time...
