Mar-11-06  fred lennox: Curious game. i question a couple of moves black made but not 7...Qxf6 which i see nothing wrong in the Tartakower variation, though it's less popular than...gxf6. Unfortunately, it is the only game in this site with 7...Qxf6.
Mar-11-06  radu stancu: Was this a loss on time or is the game incomplete? 'Cause I see nothing wrong with black's position.

Eric Schiller: It was an online blitz game at the long-defunct USA Today Sports Center. I experimented with 7...Qxf6 on a number of occasions, mostly in casual play.
Mar-12-06  fred lennox: <Schiller> So do you consider 7...Qxf6 inferior?
Mar-12-06  stephenw: whats wrong with 9... Qxh4?

Eric Schiller: <stephenw> It isn't a notation error, the moves later make no sense otherwise. It was an online blitz game, and probably I had my mouse on the queen anticipating his leaving the knight as is, because the pawn was pinned. So I planned to unpin it, I guess, and just moved instantly.

At the end, I assume I flagged, as the position looks boringly drawish.

Jul-07-22  Granny O Doul: I was going to suggest that 7...gxf6 was probably played, but having heard right here from one of the perpetrators, I'm perfectly happy not to get involved.

louispaulsen88888888: I just did a quick check with my favorite computer. Sorry. Engine. Everyone corrects me. WASP plays Qxe5 and white is up about 1.5 in computer terms.
