Aug-15-05  sfm: So we must conclude that black lost on time...

WannaBe: After 100. ... where king moves, black loses the knight. Then it's RB vs. R ending. I don't know if this a 50 moves scenario or a draw for sure... Can anyone else offer an opinion?
Feb-22-08  areknames: Not sure if the final position can be won by white...what I know is that black ended up in this mess from what must SURELY have been a won position. Remarkable.
Nov-04-09  KingG: Did Black really play 3...a6? What's wrong with 4.dxe6?
Jul-10-11  Anton Stortchilov: In the end, 99. ...Rh1 would have drawn it, wouldn't it?

This is truly bizarre, and I can't figure out what's wrong with 4.dxe6 either, much less why a strong GM would reject it, with the only idea coming to mind that Gurevich wished to avoid prepared analysis.

An alternative I found on another site is 3....e5, played in an online game by a player rated 2084.

The latter move must have been a mouse slip.

FSR: There's no that Black played 3...a6, nor that White declined the free pawn.
