An Englishman: Good Evening: You know, normally Anderssen had to sacrifice a few pieces to get the sort of lead in development he has after 10 moves in this game.
Mar-11-12  YoungEd: Boy, Black sure played poorly here. Even 2...d5 is weak, I think. Too many queen moves early on. After 11. ♕c4 Black loses at least a piece, and could give up.

  FSR: 2...d5!? is interesting - a near-novelty on move 2! Houdini 3 says White is better (around .4 to .5) after either 3.exd5 Qxd5 4.Nc3 Qxd4 5.Qxd4 cxd4 6.Nb5 or 3.dxc5 Nf6 4.exd5. In the game continuation, surely Black should have gambited a pawn with 4...Qxd1+ with decent compensation.
Aug-17-20  schnarre: ...How NOT to play a Sicilian!
