Feb-13-06  Autoreparaturwerkbau: Kind of bizarre end-position. Weird... or whatever you like.
Feb-13-06  MorphyMatt: Wow! This is an amazing example of why not to be to greedy if you're NN!

OlimpBase: Nice game, but White's play is suicidal.

8.Nd6+? leads only to perpetual check while obvious 8.Nc3 wins on spot.

9.Qf7+?? loses on spot after 9...Ne7

10.Nc3? is wrong (10...Bg4+!), he should have played Qd5+ instead.

Dec-01-07  evenua: Yay, I got 4-month subscription thanks to this game!
Aug-16-08  TheTamale: Wow, can't believe Max Lange would miss mate in one: 15, Qd5##!
Dec-06-08  norami: Black had five more pieces than White but still lost. That has to be the record.
Dec-21-08  java77: I think is like MAX PAIN!!
Nov-11-09  Notagm: OlimpBased: Do you have variations to support your claims?
Nov-11-09  Starf1re: Another awful performance from NN.

al wazir: 9...Be7 or Ne7 would have been a better defense.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Fun game, but Max didn't take the Lange way home--rather more of a shortcut.
Nov-11-09  Aniara: I would have preferred to mate with the pawn: 15. c3 mate.
Nov-11-09  Cibator: In response to norami's comment, here's a game where the winner finishes with one piece (and that only a knight) against the opponent's five - and for good measure, one pawn fewer as well.

Nov-11-09  bengalcat47: Black had five more pieces than White --and six of those pices are still sitting on their starting points at the end!
Nov-11-09  HeadCrunch: Yet another loss by Nomen nescio
Nov-11-09  Samagonka: This game is like 2 amateurs playing against each other.
Nov-11-09  TugasKamagong: Nice pun on the Supertramp song.
Nov-11-09  Sim1: I believe this game features in "Better Chess for Average Players" as an instructional game between two fictional players, Black being "Hack'em Harry".
Nov-11-09  GMMandetowitch: I guess 7-...Qf3 was perhamps a better try.Well, white should retain a probably winning advantage(he should come out with a pawn up),but at least trading queens, black has the chance to develop his pieces, and hope to have enough activity to survive. For example,if Qxf3 exf3+ Kxf3 Nh6(or Nf6, Im not sure which is the best)Nxh8 Bg4+(developing with check, black hopes to castle queenside and be very active with all this white pieces still in the first rank)Kg2 ...Nd7 d3 0-0-0 and I stop here, black seems active and to have at least temporary counterchances for the pawn...of course my followup was not at all forced,so those who have better alternatives for white, just post it!
Nov-11-09  kmzr: this game is like Greco-NN games
Nov-11-09  sfm: Seems that White was lucky here. Simply 7.-,Qf3+ 8.QxQ,PxQ+ 9.KxP,Nf6 10.NxR,Bg4+ 11.Kg2,Bh5 12.d4,g5 12.BxP,Bg7 is too good for black. White can try other moves than 9.KxP, but I think he is lost. But if NN had played like that, we'd never have known the game.
Nov-11-09  lzromeu: The Black Queen was trying to do a "olympic lap". Romantic times.
Nov-11-09  Anthony1: I'd go with 3...Qe7
Nov-11-09  kingfu: Interesting development for black. Queen devours white back row except the King! Black "develops" his king to the middle of the board. ALL remaining black pieces and pawns are comfortable on their original squares.
Nov-11-09  ajile: NN takes yet another beating.
