Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-10-05  Shams: if 112...Bxg7 how does white win?
Jan-10-05  jdb22601: Shams the threat is rc8+ Bf8 R(anywhere along 8th) kh8 Rxf8 mate. there is no defense
Jan-10-05  Shams: if you mean 112...Bxg7 113. Rb8+ Bf8 114. Ra1 black has Kg7

I`m confused.

Jan-10-05  jdb22601: well ok after 112....Bxg7 113. Kf5! (wanting to get to g6) to setup same type situation as in final position 113...kh7 loses to 114. R move along seventh king back to g8 Kg6! if 113...B moves then Kg6 Kf8 and white will combine threats of attacking the bishop and mating on back rank in order to win this position
Jan-10-05  Shams: ok. and black can`t try 114...Kh6 either. thanks j
Jun-23-05  mjk: 91.♖xb2 mate in 35;
112...♗c3 mate in 21 is best defense;
112...♗xg7 113.♖b8+! mate in 19 is the only winning line (113.♔f5 ♔f8!/♗c3!/♗d4!/♗a1!) -- Nalimov
Aug-06-05  ArturoRivera: why move the king instead of the normal Bd2?? isnt it better??
