Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-26-05  chess man: Great game by Chernev.
Sep-26-05  Averageguy: The colle system is a dangerous opening in the right hands.
Sep-26-05  RookFile: Well, black played really poorly.
The ...Re8 and ...e5 sequence is just terrible. For that matter, black didn't need to castle so quickly, it's probably ok, but a little risky. My preference would have been for 7.... Qc7, to keep a knight from going to e5, 8... b6, and 9....Bb7.
Dec-07-05  samikd: <The colle system is a dangerous opening in the right hands.>

actually, its a dangerous opening 'against the wrong hands'. If Black plays correctly he should be ok.

Mar-22-06  CapablancaFan: Chernev, the author of countless chessbooks, shows not only he can talk the talk, but walk the walk and pulls off an incredible win.
Feb-20-07  Octavia: & he explained all the moves in LOGICAL CHESS! pp 134
Oct-16-10  DanielBryant: As Chernev points out, had Black played 23...Re7, White could have won with the excelsior theme: 24.f4 e4 25.f5 e5 26.f6.
