sachistu: Anyone have the tournament book for the Capablanca memorial (Havana 1971)? The Chess Player series published one and there may be others. I ask because the same score as given here (apparently round 8) is also given for Fernandez-Donner (apparently round 11). The tournament cross table shows the same result (0-1) for both games. It appears the pairings (based on the rounds) would be plausible, so this was no help.

sachistu: Just FYI...I found my copy of Havana 1971, which I thought was missing.

As suspected, the players given here for this game are incorrect. This score belongs to Fernandez-Donner from round 11. the Velimirovic-Bilek game was played in round 8, ECO B38 and drawn in 35 moves.

Chessbase made a 2nd error by assigning that game to Rodriguez Cordoba-Barczay, which was played in round 1. The Rodriguez-Barczay game played in round 1 was ECO A23 and drawn in 48 moves. I don't believe either of those games are currently on this site, but I do have them.

I'll submit a correction slip.

By the way, in the score given here, it was still possible for Black to lose e.g. say... 29...Bb5? 30.Rxg6+! Qxc3 31.Bxc3#!
