jnpope: Found a source for this game:
<Chess Review>, v23 n5, May 1955, p149.

This source gives the site/date as Breslau, 1855 (updated) along with "This pretty game was only discovered as recently as 1938" and ends at 20...Bg4+.

Does anyone know the 1938 source alluded to in <Chess Review>?

Sally Simpson: No Games by Anderssen in the 1938 Chess Review Index.

I like looking at the old mags, I'll poke about for that period go a couple of years either side. I'll catch Alekhine - Euwe II and AVRO which was played in November 1938 so 1939 will have a fuller report on it.

jnpope: User: Chessist found it in <Deutsche Schachzeitung>, 1938, p.315, which reprinted it from the <Neue Leipziger Zeitung>, presumably from the same year.
Nov-11-24  Chessist: According to the source given, the game was not played in Breslau, but in Leipzig.
