Kibitzer's Corner
May-21-04  dippel: Every black defensive try is met by another sacrifice! Nice game by Bruzon
Jun-09-04  STendefamMuitB: Black never stood a chance, from move 11 white has already a winning position. Bruzon shows deep understanding of the game.
Jun-09-04  PizzatheHut: It looks like Ramirez was cruisin' for a Bruzon...I apologize for the pun but couldn't resist :-)
Apr-08-05  notyetagm: Wow, what a great game by Bruzon. In the most recent Informant Best Games contest, this game finished in the top 10 and got Larry C's 6, meaning that he thought it was one of the top five games of the issue.
Jun-23-05  Granite: This game is outstanding, rip roaring action in a Slav no less!
Sep-02-05  gambiter: Crazy game! Some of the positions look unreal.
Apr-05-06  Topzilla: Interesting win by Bruzon, but black helped a lot:

<5 Bg4> , what for???

i know many people plays it but i have never like that bishop out of the opening in cases like this

<14 Qc7> another dumb move that allows the check, and then black is completely lost, Ramirez should have resigned at move 14.

  plang: 5..Bg4 is a sideline that is much less popular than 5..g6, 5..e6 and 5..b5. Flear considers 8..Nxd5 to be stronger making the kingside pawn storm a little less effective. 10 h4 had been played in a 2000 blitz game; 10 g5 was new. Flear's analysis looked at 11 Qxd5 concluding that the position was complicated and unclear; he did not consider Bruzon's 11 h4!. 14..e6 15 Qxc8..Rxb1 16 Kf2..Rh1 17 Bg2..Rh6 18 gxf+..Kxf7 19 Bd2 would have been strong for White. 21..axb 22 Rc1+..Rc7 23 Rxc7+..Kxc7 24 Ba5+..Kc1 25 Bg2 would have been winning for White. 23 Ba5?..Rc7! 24 Bxc7..Qf2 would have thrown away White's initiative. 23..Na6 24 Rc1+..Nc7 25 Ba5 would also have been decisive.

Did Bruzon find all of this over the board or was some of it prepared? Either way it was a very nice attack.
