Phony Benoni chessforum (kibitz #437)

Jun-26-15  mel gibson: I saw the Rook sacrifice but never proceeded with it as it required another Rook sacrifice
so I thought it wouldn't lead anywhere -
but it did!

A very good game.

  al wazir: To justify the double ♖ sac (plus the ♘) white had to have seen the entire combination, right through to the win of black's ♕. I didn't.
Jun-26-15  Shoukhath007: some what hard i can't find this.ok by the way i have selected excellent norway chess championship match.which is anand's innovation https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lTxVt... bye
Jun-26-15  stst: Looks like brute won't do it, but a prep move threatens: 24.Nf4 to attack the defending B @g6
IF (A) ....Kf8
25.Nxg6+
if (i) hxg6, 26.Qh8#
if (ii) Kg7, 26.Ne5 dis+ ==> Q lost and also
..... if 26..... Kf8, 27.Rxf7# or
...... if 26......Kh8, 27.Nxf7#
if (iii) Kg8 ==> similar analysis to (ii) Kg7

IF (B).... kh8 ==> very similar sequence as in (A).

All hinge on whether move 24 is effective as analyzed, or some other better move? (sac Ng6 did not quite work, RxP+ or Rxb+ or even QxP+ all failed, too heavy the sac..)

Jun-26-15  stst: Voila, really the long shot by RxB+, tried it... but too clumsy and,...., not that elegant!!
Jun-26-15  M.Hassan: "Difficult"
White to play 24.?
White has a knight for a Bishop

24.Nf4 Rxe4
25.Nh5+ Kg8
26.Rxe4 Bxe4
27.Qxe4
White gains a Bishop for a pawn.
===
It is not the games line, but seems workable or am I missing something?

Jun-26-15  agb2002: White has a knight for a bishop.

The best defender of the black king is the bishop. This suggests 24.Rxg6+:

A) 24... Kxg6 25.Qg3+ Kh5(6) 26.Rf4 followed by Rh4# (26... Rxe4 27.Rxe4).

B) 24... fxg6 25.Rf7+ Kxf7 (else 26.Qxh7#) 26.Qxh7+ Ke6 (26... Kf8 27.Nf4 Rdc8 28.Nxg6+ Ke8 29.Qg8#) 27.Qxg6+ Ke5 28.Qg7+ Kxe4 (28... Ke6 29.Nf4#) 29.Nf6+ exf6 (29... Ke3 30.Nxd7 Rc7 31.Nf6 and if 31... exf6 then 32.Qxc7, etc.) 30.Qxd7 followed by Qxd6 + - [Q+2P vs 2R].

C) 24... hxg6 25.Rxf7+ transposes to B.

D) 24... Kf8 25.Qh6#.

E) 24... Kh8 25.Rxf7 and mate next.

Jun-26-15  diagonalley: wow! ... brilliant combination... way too hard for <diagonalley> :-(
Jun-26-15  morfishine: I had <24.Rxg6+> continuing 24...hxg6 then the thematic <25.Rxf7+> which lets the Queen in after 25...Kxf7 26.Qh7+

*****

Jun-26-15  gofer: I couldn't see anything reasonable except Nf4, and even then I couldn't see beyond black simply not being able play Rxe5 due to Nh5+, but once I got the bits out and had a look, the attack via Nh5+ is devastating...

<24 Nf4 ...>

24 ... Rxe5
25 Nh5+ K anywhere
26 Rxe5

24 ... Kf8
25 Qh6+ Kg8
26 Nh5 mating

24 ... Kh8
25 Nxg6+ fxg6
26 Rf7 mating

24 ... Kg8
25 Qh6 mating!

24 ... e5
25 Nh5+ Kf8
26 Nf6 Qc8
27 Qh6+ Ke7
28 Rxg6 hxg6
29 Nd5+ mating

24 ... f5
25 Rxg6 hxg6
26 Qg6 mating

24 ... f6

26 Rxf6+ exf6+
27 Qxf6+ Kg8
28 Rxg6+ hxg6+
29 Qxg6+ Kf8 (Kh8 Nf6 mating!)
30 Qh6+! Kg8 (Ke7 Qf6# or Kf7 Qg7+ Ke6 Nf4#/Qf6#)
31 Nf6+ Kf7
32 Nxd7

<24 ... Rc5>
<25 Nxg6 fxg6>
<26 Rf7 Kxf7>

The mate is unavoidable...

27 ... Ke6/Kf6
28 Qxg6+ Ke5

28 Qh6+ Kg8 (Kf7 29 Qxg6+ Kf8 30 Qg7#/Qg8#)
29 Qxg6+ Kf8/Kg8
30 Qg7#

~~~
Hmmm, now that IS interesting! Is <24 Nf4> stronger than the immediate <24 Rxg6>? What do the silicon monsters say?
Jun-26-15  alphee: Among the rook's options I did try the ♖f1 first one and came like this: 1. ♖xf7+ ♔xf7 2. ♖f4+ ♗f5 3. ♕h5+ ♔f8 4. ♕h6+ 4. ♖xf5+ ♔g8 5. ♕g5+ ♔h8 6. ♘f6 exf6 7. ♕xf6+ ♔g8 8. ♖g5#.
I am sure missed a few options alowing black to escape but it looked interesting.
Jun-26-15  Abdel Irada: <It is not the games line, but seems workable or am I missing something?>
How is Black forced to take the e-pawn?
Jun-26-15  Abdel Irada: <Phony Benoni: And, just to show that life does imitate art at times:>
No, it imiates it. :-D
Jun-26-15  gofer: <alphee: Among the rook's options I did try the ♖f1 first one and came like this: 1. ♖xf7+ ♔xf7 2. ♖f4+>
Yup, this is as far as your scenario goes <2 ... Kg7>
White has just lost a rook and has no chance to make any in-roads on f7 or h7 and black will play Qe6 next threatening to trade off on e4 into a winning end game...
Jun-26-15  nalinw: OK Shoukhath007 - I have had enough of your self-promotion.
Off to Ignoreland with you!
  Penguincw: I got the "rook sac on g6, and eventually fork on f6" part right. :)
Jun-26-15  kevin86: I missed the two rook sac! Nice finish!
Jun-26-15  Shoukhath007: sorry <nolinw> this is only way to promote i can't able to see another way , please suggest me how should i share my talent?
Jun-26-15  reticulate: Is the proper ending here to trade off the queen for the two rooks (i.e. 34....R(f) f2; 35. Qg3+ Kf7; 36. QxR RxQ; 37. KxR) then cash in the big White pawn majority, or is there some mating attack that I'm missing?
Jun-26-15  jith1207: <Shoukhath007> I see you have got 160 views for the video and if you keep doing it well, you will get more hits and likes and followers. But it looks bad when shared in every other page, which hurts the purpose of this website.
Jun-26-15  Shoukhath007: great human being speak great words thanks for encouraging me <jith1207>. Thanks a lot from now onwards i will post only related videos to this pages.
Jun-26-15  Conrad93: Weird, I considered both ideas, but not at the same time!
  scormus: <<al wazir> .... I didn't.> Neither did I! I tried to make something out of Nf6 but it didn't come to anything
A tough find OTB, and we're not at the weekend yet
<How is Black forced to take the e-pawn?> 28 ... Ke6 29 Qg4+
Jun-26-15  BOSTER: 28...Ke6 29.Nf4#
