Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-14-05  Greginctw: 8. Ne5 drops a pawn after BxC2. Diemer was often lucky that his opponents missed such winning tactics (Qxc2 QxD4+) and in turn allowed them to him (Rxf5).
Jul-14-05  Greginctw: Diemer also missed a clear forced mate after 18. Qd6, but his game was one at that point anyway so i suppose it didnt matter to him to much.

  SonOfSteel: SonOfSteel: <Greginctw: 8. Ne5 drops a pawn after BxC2.> How's this for keeping up the heat: 9.Nxf7! Kxf7 10.Bxe6+ Kxe6 11.Qxc2 Qxd4+ 12.Kh1 Qg4 ( to stop 13.Qf5+...)13.Qb3+ Nd5 14.Nxd5 cxd5 15.Qxb7 Bd6 16.Qf7+ Ke5 17.Bf4+±± This analysis originated from Tom Purser's web site, a few years ago -although I do not see it there anymore. I've never had an opportunity to try it...but it sure looks fun!
Dec-02-19  sea7kenp: I'm a little bit confused, about if the Exchange Sacrifice (9 Rxf5) is sound? What happens if 10 exf5? Thanks!
Dec-02-19  Granny O Doul: On 9...exf5, 10.Nxf7 forks Q and R and White's knight isn't getting trapped on h8.
