Mar-29-22  newzild: The Killer's Grob...

Nice attack by our homicidal friend.

much better than 21...Nb4 would be 21...Nxe5, as 22. Qc3 could then be answered by 22...Bxc5. This would threaten 23...Bb4 24. Qxb4 Nc2+ (or 24...Nd3+, because the f4-knight must keep protecting e2), and 23. Qxc5 would lose the queen to 23...Nd3+.

Apr-01-22  newzild: Nice line, David - though Black will need to play accurately after 22. Ne3 given his weakness on the long diagonal.

I agree that it would behoove Black not to get overconfident after 21...Nxe5 22.Qc3 Bxc5 23.Ne3 (which I surmise was your intent).

However, it doesn't seem to me that Black needs to play "accurately" here. Black's mobility and development are so superior as to give him several ways to continue that seem both effective and easy to find. One I like is 23...Qc6, which defends the bishop, attacks the h-rook, and clears the e8-square for Black's f-rook.
